Maine Coon 2027 Monthly Calendars

How to Print Your Maine Coon Printables

Every sheet on this page is free for personal use. Click Download PDF for a print-ready file sized for US Letter (A4 works too - choose "Fit to page" in the print dialog), or Print to send the sheet straight to your printer. Plain paper is fine for a desk or a fridge; a heavier 28 lb / 110 gsm sheet stays flat on a wall and takes color better.

The monthly calendars come in matching sets of twelve, so you can print the whole year at once with Full 2027 Year PDF, punch two holes along the top and hang the stack on binder rings - or take it to a copy center for spiral binding. New Maine Coon printables are added to this same page, so bookmark it and check back.

About the Maine Coon

The Maine Coon is America's own cat. It grew up on the farms and in the harbors of Maine in the 1800s, a big, shaggy working cat that kept barns and ships clear of mice and shrugged off New England winters. Nobody wrote down where it came from, so the stories filled the gap: sailors' cats brought home from Europe, Marie Antoinette's Angoras smuggled to Maine before her escape fell through, even a cross between a cat and a raccoon - which is impossible, but explains the name and the ringed tail. A brown tabby named Cosey won the first major cat show in the United States at Madison Square Garden in 1895. The breed nearly vanished in the twentieth century when Persians became the fashion, was rebuilt by a handful of devoted breeders from the 1950s on, and in 1985 became the official state cat of Maine. Today it is one of the most popular pedigreed cats in the country.

Temperament

Maine Coons are called gentle giants for a reason. For a cat this size they are remarkably easygoing: good with children, patient with dogs, curious about visitors, and content to follow you from room to room without insisting on your lap. They talk in chirps and trills rather than meows, many of them love water and will play in the sink or the bathtub, and they keep a kitten's fondness for games well into adulthood. A lot of owners describe them as dog-like - they learn to fetch, they come when called, and they wait by the door when they hear the car.

Size, coat and care

This is the largest domestic cat breed. Males typically weigh 13 to 18 pounds and some pass 20; females run 8 to 12. Measured nose to tail tip a big male can stretch past 40 inches, and the breed matures slowly, not reaching full size until three to five years old. The coat is long and shaggy but not fine, with a heavy ruff around the neck, tufted ears with lynx tips, tufts of fur between the toes and a huge plumed tail the cat can wrap over its nose in the cold. It comes in nearly every color and pattern - brown tabby is the classic, but you will find solid black, white, blue, red, silver, tortoiseshell and calico as well. Brushing two or three times a week keeps the coat free of mats. Maine Coons are generally healthy and live 12 to 15 years; responsible breeders screen for hip dysplasia and a heart condition called HCM, so ask about testing if you are buying a kitten.

A few things you may not know

The longest domestic cat ever recorded was a Maine Coon: Stewie, from Reno, Nevada, measured 48.5 inches from nose to tail. Early Maine Coons were often polydactyl - born with extra toes - and the wide, snowshoe-like paws were an asset on ice and snow. The tail is not just for show: it doubles as a scarf, curled around the body when the cat sleeps in the cold. And despite the folk tale, the Maine Coon's only relationship to a raccoon is a bushy ringed tail and a fondness for dunking things in water.
